Citizen Science: The New York City Urban Barcode Project

My first “Science in the World” report combines two stories into one. It describes a fairly new method, known as DNA barcoding, that uses genetic information to identify any living thing, and presents possibly the most exemplary citizen science project that I have encountered so far.
